Echternach: most beautiful villageEchternach counts as one of the country’s most beautiful towns. Located on the bank of the Sûre river, it is only a bridge away from Germany. The city breathes a medieval appearance with its narrow streets, ancient ramparts and aristocratic houses. We will explore it with a local guide who will also take us to the 7 century (!) Benedictine Abbey. It contains a magnificent white sarcophagus that holds the remains of St. Willibrord.
Mullerthal: little SwitzerlandThe Mullterthal is often called Little Switzerland. With its steep hills, slopes, panoramic viewpoints and lovely villages it is an area that is truly worth visiting.
Grevenmacher: Cellars of Bernard-Massard & SavouryWhen it comes to making still and sparkling wines using traditional methods, Bernard-Massard is Luxembourg’s leading family-run winemaking business, with an annual production of nearly 3.5 million bottles. It is now managed by the fifth generation. On a guided tour of the cellars, you will learn all about the secrets of making wine and crémant (sparkling wine). The tour is followed by a tasting session in elegant surroundings, with views of the Moselle. We will have dinner in the exquisite Bistro Quai restaurant nearby.
Luxembourg : The GrundFull of breathtaking views and picture-perfect nature backdrops, the Grund is the perfect place to experience Luxembourg City’s most iconic and scenic sights. With historical references dating back to the 14th century, this picturesque and idyllic district is one of Luxembourg’s oldest. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is located in the lower part of the city right in the heart of the old fortress, which was built over nine centuries. Described by many as “a village within a city”, the Grund has a much calmer and quieter feeling than the nearby city centre, which can be easily accessed on foot or by public lift. Its location, deep in a valley and surrounded by the beautiful Alzette River, gives it a unique and memorable character.
