The Destination

The Champagne region in Eastern France is a beautiful area to explore on a day trip from Brussels. Best known for its sparkling wine, the Champagne region also has an interesting history and beautiful heritage. 

The Places

There’s the Reims Cathedral, the place chosen by the French Kings to be crowned under the eyes of the world and God. There is Epernay, the capital of champagne wine with it’s many cellars. There is Hautvillers with it’s Abbey, which is Dom Perignon’s final resting place. 

Epernay :
Champagne & Fine food

 ​Around 11.00, we will arrive at Epernay. We will go underground first to explore the secrets of the champagne wine of the De Castellane or the Mercier house (your choice!) and, of course, do some tastings!
We will also have our gastronomic lunch (two courses) in Epernay.

Hautvillers : Dom Pérignon & smaller wineries

​In the early afternoon, after our gastronomic lunch in Epernay,  we will visit  smaller wineries in Hautvillers and the Abbey to greet Dom Pérignon.

Reims: The Cathedral, Art Deco and more cellars

In the late afternoon, we will spend some time in Reims with its impressive Cathedral and great Art Deco buildings.

We will explain you how the Reims Cathedral was a witness of almost all Europe’s tipping points in history.
There is also the unique stained glass window pane made by the Modern Artist Marc Chagall.

Heading back home safely

​And then, it’s time to head back home with - experience learns for most of you - (many) Champagne bottles from renowned houses at reduced prices.
